We are the Oral and Maxillofacial pathology department belonging to Kasr Alaini dental hospital, as a part of the oral health care system. In our lab we receive pathology specimens concerned with the maxillofacial area. We manage the handling and the preparation of the specimens up to the histopathological diagnosis. Additionally, we are in charge of grounding our undergraduate students with the basic clinical and histopathological knowledge of the common pathological conditions of the oral cavity, to be able to spot any abnormality and deal with it accordingly in their future dental practice. On top of that, we level up the skills of our postgraduate students by ensuring their ability to recognize and diagnose various pathological conditions of the head and neck area.
