A. Wrong, the lesion showed a prominent ectomesenchymal component; which is not a feature of adenoid ameloblastoma.
B. Wrong, there was no ghost cell component, as well as, the lesion showed a prominent ectomesenchymal component; which is not a feature of adenoid ameloblastoma.
C. Right, the lesion was a benign mixed odontogenic tumor comprising cellular ectomesenchymal tissue resembling dental papilla and an epithelial component resembling early developing enamel organ with formation of dentin matrix and calcifications in some areas. AFO was formed in the site of a missed lower left second premolar causing impaction of the first premolar and displacement of the lower left second deciduous molar. This lesion was previously classified as a developing odontoma. However, this classification is not consistent with the BRAF mutations and the aggressiveness found in many reported cases of AFO.
